One Ingredient Banana Ice Cream

I never throw out over ripe bananas.  I use them for smoothies, banana bread, and yes…ice-cream.  In summer, you will always find a container of this ice-cream in my freezer.  I love it because it’s all natural, one ingredient, and I can whip up a batch in 5 minutes or less!  I love to freeze mine and enjoy with a drizzle of warm Nutella.  You can add whatever add-ins you like to change up the flavor. You gotta try this one!

3 ripe bananas
1⁄2 tablespoon milk or heavy cream (if needed)

  1. Peel and slice the bananas.
  2. Put the bananas in an air-tight container or Ziploc bag and freeze until solid, around 2 hours.
  3. Put them in the blender or food processor and blend. Use a wooden spoon to loosen the mixture.  The mixture will go creamy like soft-serve ice-cream – if it doesn’t, add the milk and blend until it does.  If you would like to add any goodies, this is the time to do it.
  4. Serve right away for soft-serve or freeze for ice-cream consistency.  Enjoy!
